The Association was established on 2 December 2014, Directors are: Denys Look and Annita Mau.


The objects for which the Association is established are (M&A):

  1. To promote mediation for resolving disputes in all kinds of suitable areas for the general public especially where the parties in dispute cannot afford the high costs of legal proceedings.
  2. To promote the public’s awareness and understanding of the new development of mediation in other parts of the world.
  3. To promote and enhance knowledge and skills in mediation for public benefit.
  4. To consider, study and make recommendations to the government, in respect of all matters connected with mediation in Hong Kong and Mainland.
  5. To organize and provide training courses, workshops, lectures and to develop an assessment process and an accreditation system for people from all walks of life in Hong Kong who wish to attain the skill of mediation.
  6. To arrange and conduct lectures, exhibitions, meeting, classes and conference for the promotion of its objects in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
  7. To liaise with local or international institutions with similar objectives to foster co-operation and exchange of information.
  8. To establish, promote, or assist in establishing or promoting, to subscribe to or become a member of, to support or enter into partnership with, any charitable association or company whose objects are similar to the objects of the Association and whose Memorandum of Association contain similar restrictions on the distribution of assets as are contained in Clauses 4 and 7 hereof.
  9. To print and publish any newspapers, periodicals, books or leaflets for the promotion of its objects in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
  10. To receive and accept donations and gifts and to make personal or written appeals, conduct public meetings or bazaars or otherwise take such lawful steps as are from time to time expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the Association, by way of donations, gifts, or otherwise.
  11. In the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise, to purchase, take or lease, hire, or otherwise acquire, own, hold, use and occupy in Hong Kong or elsewhere any land or other real or personal property or any right or benefit therein which the Association thinks necessary for the purpose of promoting any of its objects and to work, improve, maintain, develop and turn to account, sell, let, surrender, mortgage, charge, dispose of or otherwise deal with the same or any other property of the Association.
  12. In the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise, to purchase, take on lease, hire or otherwise acquire in any way equipment, plant, machinery, furniture, fixtures, fittings, chattels and goods of any nature or description and to sell or otherwise dispose of the same.
  13. To take and accept any gift of property, whether subject to any special trust or not, for any one or more of the objects of the Association.
  14. In the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise, to raise and borrow money in such reasonable and prudent manner as the Association thinks fit and in particular by the issue of debentures, bonds, bills of exchange, promissory notes or other obligations or securities of the Association or by mortgage, bill of sale or other charges of or upon all of any part of the property of the Association whether real or personal.
  15. To account for and receive subscriptions and other contributions towards the cost of the activities of the Association and generally to raise money for the objects of the Association.
  16. In the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise, to enter into any arrangements or contracts with any Governments or authorities, municipal, local or otherwise or with any person or company that is conducive to the objects of the Association or any of them and to obtain from any such Government or authority, person or company, any rights, privileges or concessions which the Association thinks desirable to obtain and to carry out exercise and comply with any such arrangements, contracts, rights, privileges and concessions.
  17. To repay or refund to persons who have advanced or subscribed money for the purpose of meeting the preliminary expenses of the formation of a company to be established as aforesaid the amount of the money so advanced or subscribed by them.
  18. In the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise and subject to Clause 4 hereof, to pay for any rights property or privileges acquired by the Association or for any services rendered to or any debt liability or obligation of the Association either in cash or wholly or partly in debenture or other securities of the Association accrued or charged upon all or any part of the property of the Association or not so secured or charged any to make payments either in money or in any other way as is from time to time expedient for information or advice given to the Association.
  19. To invest any moneys of the Association not immediately required for any of its objects, in such reasonable and prudent manner as is from time to time be determined.
  20. To undertake and execute any trust or any agency in the furtherance of the objects of the Association but not otherwise.
  21. Generally to do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.
